This section of the website is about keeping safe. This means keeping safe from:
- being harrassed or attacked on the street
- being abused in services
- other 'risks' that life may hold

What does Valuing People say? Valuing People says that people with learning disabilities should get the same support and protection from harm and abuse as other citizens. It said that they need to be safe, but thay also need to have their choices respected. Good services will help people lead great lives, at the same time as being safe from harm or abuse. It said that Local Councils should write policies and frameworks for making
sure 'vulnerable adults' are protected. |
