Valuing People says that people with learning disabilities should be enabled to use the same mental health services everyone else uses, whenever possible. One of the things it said should happen was that it should be clear how learning disability services and mental health services worked together.

This toolkit was written for us by the Foundation for People with Learning Disabilities. It was paid for by us and the National Institute for Mental Health in England (NIMHE). It is to help local services give better mental health support to people with learning disabilities.
