Disabled people do not always get treated fairly.
If you know what your rights are, you can do something about this.
People who get treated unfairly can join together to fight for new rights.
Many self-advocacy groups have done work about this. If you want to find out more, get in touch with your local self advocacy group.
The Disability Rights Commission are asking people to be part of a big talk about how society can be equal for disabled people. You can find out more from www.disabilitydebate.org
Values Into Action (VIA) do alot of work about Rights. They have a project called Rights for All. You can find out about it from the paper in the box below, or by going to their website at www.viauk.org

Organisations that look after your Rights
There are organisations whose job it is to look after your rights. |
|
|
|
|
 |
They are:
- The Disability Rights Commission - www.drc-uk.org
- The Commission for Racial Equality - www.cre.gov.uk
- The Equal Opportunities Commission - www.eoc.org.uk
The government wants to bring these 3 organisations together into 1 big organisation.
It would be called the Commission for Equality and Human Rights.
Find out more about the government's plans from the links below.
